Manufactured by the Pi Medical Special Employment Centre in Don Benito (Badajoz), Extremadura, these products help to promote social inclusion.
The masks filter out 99% of bacteria. They are also more lightweight, making breathing easier without reducing effectiveness.
Madrid, 9 September 2020. DIA Group has expanded its range with a new model of surgical mask made in Don Benito (Badajoz) by the Extremaduran company Pi Medical, where 90% of personnel have a recognised form of disability.
The new masks sold by DIA are manufactured with three layers of protection and are able to filter over 99% of bacteria, making this a very safe and effective model.
What’s more, these masks are made using a much lighter material than standard, making it easier for the wearer to breathe and preventing other issues related to the lack of air flow, without reducing efficacy. To achieve this, the company has developed a new technique whereby the fabric weighs less per square metre, creating a much lighter feeling when breathing.
“Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have adapted to offer our clients the best solutions to their current needs, such as the mandatory use of masks. At DIA, the safety and comfort of our customers is our top concern, which is why we have included this new product in our range. Its filtration rate is almost 100% while allowing the wearer to breathe normally”, emphasised the DIA Group’s Quality manager, Maria López de Montenegro.
Customers can buy these masks from DIA shops, Dia&Go and La Plaza by DIA, as well as through the online store at dia.es. They are available in packs of 10 for 6 Euros, equivalent to 60 cents each.
