DIA sponsors the FEB to promote sports and equality values, and joins its Universo Mujer programme

 With this agreement, DIA has signed a sports sponsorship for the first time in its history.
Universo Mujer is a comprehensive programme for the development of women
in society, led by the Spanish Basketball Federation (Federación Española de
Baloncesto or FEB).

. DIA Group has signed a two-year sponsorship agreement with the FEB, with the aim of promoting the values shared by both bodies including efficacy, team spirit, initiative and respect. José Antonio Lombardía, Marketing Director of the DIA Group and Pascual Martínez, Marketing and Strategy Director of the FEB, have presented this agreement today accompanied by all the members of women’s national basketball team.

Among other things, by virtue of this agreement, the members of the women’s team will now wear the Dia logo on their team kit shorts. Furthermore, in this first stage the Group will provide food and drink for the FIBA U17 under-17 world basketball championship, to be held from 23 June to 3 July in Zaragoza, which will bring together the young talents of all 15 participating countries.

Universo Mujer is a comprehensive programme for the development of women and their personal development within society. It was created with a view to developing initiatives that contribute to improvement and social transformation through the values of all women’s sports. DIA, which has joined other initiatives in favour of equality and female leadership and which has had an equality plan in place since 2012, identifies with and is committed to this programme for the promotion of women. Working together with the FEB, it will develop a set of projects that contribute to the targets defined, in which clients and employees will take part.

Both bodies hope this collaboration will be lasting and successful over time.
